Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are working with vibrant schools in Barnsley to find enthusiastic and adaptable Teaching Assistant (TA). We are interested in individuals who can respond to different learning needs, work effectively alongside teachers, and give students the practical encouragement they need to participate and progress.
The Teaching Assistant contributes to effective classroom learning by working with individuals and groups, reinforcing key concepts, and creating opportunities for students to develop their skills and confidence.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Guide individual learners through tasks when additional explanation is required
- Facilitate small-group activities to reinforce lesson content and key skills
- Prepare classroom materials and learning resources for planned activities
- Motivate students to participate, contribute, and become more independent
- Monitor learners during activities and communicate observations to teaching staff
- Reinforce positive classroom routines and appropriate behaviour
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people in education or a related environment is desirable
- Ability to build productive and respectful relationships with learners
- Understanding of different learning needs and approaches to classroom support
- Confidence assisting individuals as well as groups of students
- Good communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
