Job Title: PE Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking energetic and committed Physical Education Teacher for active schools in Sheffield. We welcome educators who can create inclusive physical education experiences, motivate students with different levels of ability, and use sport to develop confidence, teamwork, discipline, and healthy habits.

The PE Teacher will deliver a varied programme of physical education, giving students opportunities to improve their fitness, sporting techniques, tactical awareness, and ability to work effectively with others.

PE Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Lead engaging PE lessons across a variety of sports and physical activities
  • Demonstrate techniques, rules, and safe practices to develop students’ sporting abilities
  • Motivate learners of different abilities to participate and challenge themselves
  • Organise activities that strengthen teamwork, communication, and fair play
  • Assess physical performance and identify areas for individual improvement
  • Contribute to extracurricular clubs, competitive fixtures, and school sporting events

PE Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
  • Strong understanding of the secondary PE curriculum and its learning objectives
  • Experience delivering different sports and physical activities to young people
  • Confidence managing groups safely in indoor and outdoor environments
  • Effective leadership, communication, and classroom management abilities
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
