Job Title: Math Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

Could you make Mathematics more accessible and encourage students to approach numbers, patterns, and problems with greater confidence?

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are working with secondary schools throughout Sheffield to find skilled and motivated Mathematics Teacher. We welcome qualified educators who can simplify complex concepts, challenge learners appropriately, and create lessons that strengthen both mathematical understanding and independent thinking.

The Maths Teacher delivers structured and engaging learning across the Mathematics curriculum, helping students develop numerical fluency, logical reasoning, and the problem-solving skills required for academic success.

Math Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Deliver well-planned Mathematics lessons across relevant key stages
  • Introduce mathematical concepts using clear explanations and practical examples
  • Challenge learners through problem-solving and reasoning activities
  • Adapt lesson content to accommodate different abilities and learning needs
  • Evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and formal assessments
  • Prepare learners for examinations through focused revision and targeted intervention

Math Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
  • Sound knowledge of the secondary Mathematics curriculum
  • Experience teaching Mathematics across relevant key stages
  • Ability to communicate complex numerical concepts in an accessible way
  • Effective organisation, assessment, and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
