Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking creative and knowledgeable Design and Technology Teacher to work in tech savvy schools in Sheffield. We are interested in qualified educators who can bring practical learning to life, introduce students to different materials and processes, and encourage them to experiment, problem-solve, and refine their ideas.
The Design and Technology Teacher guides students through the complete design process, developing their technical understanding, creative thinking, and confidence with practical work.
D&T Teacher Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons covering different areas of Design and Technology
- Guide students through researching, designing, producing, and evaluating their work
- Demonstrate the correct use of tools, equipment, materials, and workshop processes
- Develop learners’ creativity, technical knowledge, and problem-solving abilities
- Assess practical projects and written work while providing constructive feedback
- Maintain safe working practices throughout practical classroom activities
DT Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate equivalent teaching qualification
- Strong knowledge of the secondary Design and Technology curriculum
- Experience delivering practical D&T lessons to different year groups
- Understanding of workshop health and safety procedures
- Effective classroom management and clear communication skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
