Job Title: General Supply Teacher

Location: Wakefield (WF1)

Salary: £150 – £200 per day (Depending on experience)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Full-Time/Part-Time, Long-term/ Day-to-day

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking for a reliable and adaptable General Supply Teacher to support schools in the Wakefield (WF1) area. If you are an individual who enjoys meeting new classes and working in different educational settings, as well as teachers who value the flexibility that supply work provides.

As a General Supply Teacher, you will step into classes where required, delivering work that has already been prepared and ensuring pupils remain focused and engaged.

Key Responsibilities of General Supply Teacher:

  • Deliver lessons using resources and plans provided by the school.
  • Maintain a calm and purposeful classroom atmosphere.
  • Follow individual school policies and routines.
  • Manage behavior fairly and consistently.
  • Record relevant information and provide feedback to permanent staff.
  • Adapt quickly to different classes, year groups and school environments.

Requirements for the General Supply Teacher role:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
  • Previous classroom experience is desirable.
  • Confidence working independently across different school settings.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • A flexible, dependable, and professional approach.
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
