Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking to appoint confident and reliable Cover Supervisor (CS) for amazing schools in Sheffield. We welcome individuals who can take responsibility for a class, communicate effectively with young people, and ensure students remain engaged with the work set by their regular teacher.
The Cover Supervisor provides classroom supervision during teacher absence, helping lessons run smoothly while maintaining clear expectations for learning and behaviour.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes during planned or unexpected teacher absence
- Deliver and explain work already prepared by teaching staff
- Encourage students to remain focused and complete assigned activities
- Manage classroom behaviour according to school policies
- Respond appropriately to questions and provide general learning support
- Report any concerns, behaviour issues, or completed work to relevant staff
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting
- Confidence supervising groups of students in a classroom setting
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Ability to follow lesson instructions and established school procedures
- Responsible, adaptable, and able to remain calm under pressure
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
