Salary: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you confident working with young people and looking for an opportunity to make a real difference in the classroom? A welcoming secondary school in Doncaster is seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to support students and maintain a positive learning environment.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of their usual teacher, ensuring students remain focused and complete the work provided. You will work across different subjects and year groups, maintaining clear expectations, managing behaviour and supporting students throughout their lessons. This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience within a secondary school while playing an important part in students' day-to-day learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes and deliver work provided by teaching staff.

  • Maintain a calm, focused and well-managed classroom environment.

  • Support students with their learning and encourage them to remain on task.

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

  • Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding lesson engagement and behaviour.

  • Follow school procedures relating to safeguarding and student welfare.

  • Work effectively with teachers and wider school staff.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Confident communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • A calm, reliable and adaptable approach.

  • Ability to follow lesson plans and school procedures effectively.

  • A genuine interest in supporting young people's education.

  • Experience within a school or education setting is advantageous.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.

  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
