Salary Scale: £174.70 to £270.94 per day (MPS/UPS)

GSL Education Hull branch are currently hiring dedicated Science Teachers to work across secondary schools in York and the surrounding areas. As a Science Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that encourage students to explore scientific concepts, develop practical skills, and think critically about the world around them. You will create a positive classroom environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, participate actively, and achieve their academic potential.
Main Responsibilities as a Science Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum and relevant examination specifications.
- Adapt teaching approaches and resources to meet the needs of students across different abilities and learning needs.
- Develop students' scientific knowledge, practical skills, critical thinking, and curiosity.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and using assessment to inform future planning.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement within the classroom.
- Contribute to departmental activities, enrichment opportunities, and the wider academic life of the school where appropriate.
Science Teacher Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Previous experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge across relevant areas of the Science curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
