Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are supporting inclusive schools across Sheffield in finding dedicated and resilient SEMH Teachers. We welcome qualified educators who can adapt their teaching to individual needs, build trusting relationships with learners, and balance academic progress with effective emotional and behavioural support.
The SEMH Teacher delivers accessible and engaging learning while helping students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs develop confidence, manage challenges, and make meaningful progress.
SEMH Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver lessons adapted to individual learning and SEMH needs
- Create clear routines and a structured, supportive classroom environment
- Use positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement with learning
- Help students develop emotional regulation and coping skills
- Monitor academic, social, and emotional progress
- Work closely with support staff and other professionals to meet individual needs
SEMH Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
- Previous experience teaching students with SEMH or additional needs
- Strong understanding of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Knowledge of positive behaviour management strategies
- Calm, adaptable, and confident approach to challenging situations
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
