Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

Can you provide the individual support that helps young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) feel confident, included, and able to progress?

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking caring and dependable SEN Teaching Assistants to support schools in Doncaster. We would like to hear from individuals who understand that every learner has different needs and can provide patient, practical support to help students take part in lessons and school life.

The SEN TA works alongside teachers and other support staff to help learners with Special Educational Needs access learning, develop key skills, and become more independent.

SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support during lessons
  • Help students understand instructions and complete classroom activities
  • Adapt tasks and resources to suit individual learning needs
  • Encourage communication, confidence, and independent learning
  • Support positive behaviour and participation in school activities
  • Monitor progress and share relevant observations with teaching staff

SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN
  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and different learning needs
  • Patient and understanding approach to supporting young people
  • Good communication and relationship-building skills
  • Reliable, flexible, and comfortable working as part of a team
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
