Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking to appoint supportive and reliable Behaviour Support staff for schools in Rotherham. We would like to hear from individuals who can build positive relationships with students, understand different behavioural needs, and provide clear guidance that helps learners stay engaged with their education.

The Behaviour Support role involves providing focused help to young people who may struggle with behaviour, emotions, or classroom routines, helping them develop better ways to manage everyday challenges.

Behaviour Support Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students
  • Help young people recognise and manage challenging behaviour
  • Encourage positive choices and appropriate ways to handle difficult situations
  • Support learners with staying focused and involved during lessons
  • Maintain clear boundaries and follow agreed behaviour strategies
  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide consistent support

Behaviour Support Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • Understanding of positive behaviour management approaches
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Patient, consistent, and confident when supporting learners
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
