Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Would you like to help young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) overcome learning barriers and become more confident and independent at school?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are supporting schools across Rotherham in finding caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistants. We are looking for individuals who can understand different learning needs, provide patient and practical support, and help students take an active part in classroom activities.
The SEN TA works closely with teachers and support staff to make learning more accessible and provide learners with the individual guidance they need to progress.
SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support during lessons
- Help students understand instructions and complete learning activities
- Adapt tasks and resources to meet different individual needs
- Encourage learners to develop confidence and greater independence
- Support communication, social skills, and positive classroom behaviour
- Monitor progress and share relevant observations with teaching staff
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN
- Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and barriers to learning
- Patient and supportive approach to individual needs
- Good communication and relationship-building skills
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
