Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Worksop
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Could you take charge of a classroom and keep learning moving forward when the regular teacher is unavailable?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are working with amazing schools throughout Worksop to find confident and dependable Cover Supervisor (CS). We are keen to hear from individuals who can communicate well with young people, maintain clear classroom expectations, and ensure students remain focused on the work provided.
As a CS, you will take responsibility for a class during teacher absence, making sure learners follow prepared activities and lessons continue in a calm and organised way.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes when teaching staff are absent
- Introduce prepared tasks and explain instructions clearly
- Keep students focused and encourage them to complete their work
- Manage behaviour according to the school’s policies and expectations
- Provide general support when learners have questions about assigned tasks
- Share relevant information about the lesson with teaching staff
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people
- Confidence managing groups in a classroom environment
- Good communication and behaviour management skills
- Ability to follow prepared lesson plans and school procedures
- Calm, responsible, and adaptable approach to different situations
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
