Salary Scale: £34,068 to £52,834 per annum (MPS/UPS)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently hiring an SEN Teacher to work across a range of inclusive and supportive educational settings in Scarborough. We are looking for a compassionate, adaptable, and committed educator who can provide engaging learning experiences while helping pupils overcome barriers to education and reach their individual potential.
SEN Teacher Role:
The successful SEN Teacher will deliver personalised, high-quality teaching to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, adapting lessons and approaches to suit individual learning profiles. We are looking to recruit an SEN Teacher who can build strong relationships with pupils, promote independence and confidence, and work effectively with teaching assistants and wider support teams.
SEN Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual abilities and needs of pupils with SEND
- Differentiate learning activities, resources, and teaching strategies to promote progress and inclusion
- Support pupils with needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs where appropriate
- Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, using evidence to inform future teaching and interventions
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, independence, and active participation in learning
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, families, and specialist professionals to support individual pupil outcomes
SEN Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Previous experience teaching pupils with SEND or within a specialist educational setting is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and strategies for supporting diverse learning needs
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
- A patient, resilient, adaptable, and pupil-centred approach to teaching
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
