Salary Scale: £92 – £115 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to work across a range of supportive and inclusive schools in Scarborough. We are looking for a patient, resilient, and proactive support professional who is passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and develop their independence.
SEN Teaching Assistant Role:
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will provide personalised classroom and individual support to students with a range of Special Educational Needs. We are looking to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant who can build positive relationships with young people, respond effectively to individual learning needs, and work closely with teachers and support staff to promote positive educational outcomes.
SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of SEND needs
- Assist teachers with classroom activities, learning resources, and personalised interventions
- Support students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, and other additional needs where appropriate
- Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, independence, and active participation in learning
- Monitor student engagement and progress, sharing relevant observations with teachers and the wider support team
- Contribute to a safe, structured, and inclusive environment that promotes student wellbeing and achievement
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND in an educational, care, or similar setting is highly desirable
- A good understanding of Special Educational Needs and inclusive support strategies
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- A patient, empathetic, resilient, and adaptable approach to supporting young people
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
