Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Doncaster
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are working with tech savvy schools in Doncaster that are looking for creative and knowledgeable Design and Technology Teachers. We welcome qualified educators who can make practical lessons interesting, introduce learners to different materials and processes, and encourage them to approach design challenges with confidence.

The Design and Technology Teacher has the opportunity to help students develop creative thinking, technical knowledge, and practical skills by guiding them through each stage of the design and making process.

D&T Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons
  • Guide learners through researching, designing, making, and evaluating products
  • Teach students how to use different materials, tools, and equipment
  • Demonstrate safe working practices during practical lessons
  • Encourage creativity, experimentation, and practical problem-solving
  • Assess students’ work and provide clear feedback for improvement

DT Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Previous experience teaching Design and Technology within a secondary school
  • Good knowledge of D&T materials, tools, and practical processes
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements in workshop settings
  • Strong planning, communication, and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
