Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Doncaster
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Are you confident managing a classroom and keeping students engaged when their regular teacher is away?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking confident and responsible Cover Supervisor (CS) to work with amazing schools in Doncaster. We would like to hear from individuals who can communicate clearly with young people, manage classroom behaviour effectively, and make sure planned learning continues smoothly across different subjects.
As a Cover Supervisor, you willtake responsibility for classes during teacher absence, guiding learners through prepared activities and maintaining a calm and focused learning environment.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes when the regular teacher is unavailable
- Introduce work and activities prepared by teaching staff
- Make sure students understand instructions and remain focused
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school expectations
- Provide general guidance to learners when they need support
- Report completed work, behaviour, and any concerns to teaching staff
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Confidence managing groups within a classroom environment
- Good communication and behaviour management skills
- Ability to follow prepared lesson plans and school procedures
- Calm, organised, and flexible approach to different situations
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
