Job Title: Geography Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are keen to hear from knowledgeable and enthusiastic Geography Teacher interested in working with inclusive schools of Barnsley. We are looking for qualified educators who can make geographical topics interesting and accessible, encourage students to explore the world around them, and develop their analytical and critical-thinking skills.

The Geography Teacher is going to deliver engaging lessons across physical and human geography, helping learners understand important environmental, social, and global issues.

Geography Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver Geography lessons in line with curriculum requirements
  • Teach topics across physical, human, and environmental geography
  • Use maps, data, case studies, and other resources to support learning
  • Encourage students to investigate geographical issues and form informed conclusions
  • Monitor progress through classwork, homework, and assessments
  • Support learners with revision and preparation for examinations

Geography Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Previous experience teaching Geography within a school
  • Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum
  • Ability to explain geographical topics clearly to different ability levels
  • Good planning, communication, and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
