Job Title: Computer Studies Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are connecting schools across Barnsley with knowledgeable and enthusiastic Computer Studies (CS) Teacher. We are looking for qualified educators who can make computing topics clear and interesting, combine theory with practical activities, and encourage students to explore how technology works.
The Computer Studies Teacher helps learners develop their understanding of computing, programming, and digital systems while building logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Computer Studies Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver Computer Studies lessons in line with the curriculum
- Teach coding and programming through practical tasks and projects
- Introduce learners to computer systems, software, networks, and digital technologies
- Encourage students to develop logical thinking and solve technical problems
- Monitor progress through classwork, projects, tests, and assessments
- Support learners with revision and preparation for examinations
Computer Studies Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
- Previous experience teaching Computer Studies, Computing, or ICT within a school
- Good knowledge of programming, computer systems, and digital technology
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to different ability levels
- Strong planning, communication, and classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
