Job Title: Math Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Can you help students see Mathematics as a subject they can understand, apply, and succeed in?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking to appoint confident and knowledgeable Mathematics Teacher to join fabulous schools in Barnsley. We would like to hear from educators who can explain mathematical concepts clearly, make lessons accessible to different ability levels, and encourage students to become independent problem-solvers.
The Math Teacher delivers structured and engaging lessons that strengthen learners’ numerical knowledge, reasoning abilities, and confidence in tackling mathematical problems.
Math Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver Mathematics lessons in line with the curriculum
- Teach key areas including number, algebra, geometry, and statistics
- Use clear examples and activities to make difficult concepts easier to understand
- Adapt lessons to support different learning needs and ability levels
- Assess progress through classwork, homework, tests, and examinations
- Provide revision guidance and additional support where required
Math Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
- Previous experience teaching Mathematics within a school or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of the Mathematics curriculum
- Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and simply
- Effective planning, communication, and classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
