Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are working with schools across Barnsley to find reliable and supportive Teaching Assistants. We are looking for individuals who can work alongside teachers, respond to different learning needs, and provide practical guidance that helps students make progress throughout the school day.
As a TA, you will play an important role in supporting classroom learning, providing additional help to individuals and groups while encouraging participation and independence.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Support teachers with lessons and planned classroom activities
- Provide one-to-one guidance to students who require additional help
- Work with small groups to reinforce key skills and lesson content
- Help learners understand instructions and complete classroom tasks
- Encourage positive behaviour, participation, and independent learning
- Prepare resources and help maintain an organised learning environment
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to support different learning needs and ability levels
- Patient, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
