Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking to recruit confident and reliable Cover Supervisor (CS) to work in schools across Sheffield. We are keen to hear from individuals who enjoy working with young people, can manage a classroom effectively, and are comfortable supervising lessons across different subjects and year groups.
The Cover Supervisor ensures learning continues during teacher absence by guiding students through prepared work, maintaining classroom expectations, and providing a calm and organised environment.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes when the regular teacher is absent
- Introduce work and activities prepared by teaching staff
- Make sure learners understand instructions and remain focused on their tasks
- Maintain positive behaviour in line with school policies
- Respond to general questions and provide appropriate classroom guidance
- Record relevant information about behaviour, progress, and completed work for teachers
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people
- Confidence supervising and managing groups of students
- Good communication and behaviour management skills
- Ability to follow prepared lesson plans and school procedures
- Calm, responsible, and flexible approach to different classroom situations
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
