SEMH Teaching Assistant (Social, Emotional & Mental Health)
Location: Greater Manchester (Positions across Central Manchester, Salford & Stockport)
Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
Are you resilient, empathetic, and driven to support young people who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges? We are recruiting SEMH Teaching Assistants to join specialist alternative provisions and mainstream schools across Greater Manchester.
Role Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils diagnosed with SEMH needs, ADHD, trauma, or anxiety.

Help children develop self-esteem, sensory regulation, and social communication skills.

Create a calm, structured, and non-judgmental environment to lower barriers to learning.

A patient, adaptable, and emotionally resilient approach when managing challenging situations.

Team-Teach or de-escalation training is highly desirable, but not mandatory.

Dedicated consultant support and access to free CPD training (e.g., Safeguarding, SEN awareness).
