Salary: Up to £200 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you a compassionate and resilient teacher who can help young people overcome barriers to learning? A supportive specialist setting in Sheffield is looking for a committed SEMH Teacher to join their team from September.

About the Role:

As an SEMH Teacher, you will plan and deliver structured, engaging lessons tailored to pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will build positive relationships with students, adapt your teaching to individual needs and provide consistent routines that help pupils engage with learning and make progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to individual SEMH needs.

  • Assess, monitor and record pupil progress.

  • Differentiate learning to ensure pupils can access the curriculum.

  • Establish clear routines and consistent classroom expectations.

  • Manage behaviour using appropriate strategies and school policies.

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

  • Work closely with colleagues and support staff to provide consistent support.

  • Contribute to individual learning plans and wider pupil development where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable.

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • A calm, patient and resilient approach.

  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A genuine commitment to helping pupils achieve their potential.

  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
