Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Worksop
Salary: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you confident managing a classroom and keen to help students stay on track with their learning? A welcoming secondary school in Worksop is looking for a reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team from September.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes when their usual teacher is unavailable, making sure students understand the work provided and remain focused throughout the lesson. You will manage behaviour, support pupils with their learning where appropriate and help maintain a calm and productive classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes and ensure students complete the work set by teaching staff.

Follow lesson plans and provide appropriate support during learning activities.

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

Maintain a calm, safe and focused learning environment.

Encourage students to participate positively in lessons.

Monitor student engagement and provide relevant feedback to teaching staff.

Work collaboratively with teachers and other members of the school team.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong classroom management and communication skills.

A calm, confident and organised approach.

Ability to build positive relationships with students.

Good organisational skills and the ability to follow lesson plans effectively.

A genuine commitment to supporting students and their learning.
To work with GSL Education as a Cover Supervisor, you should:

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
