Salary: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you confident leading a classroom and keen to support students in staying focused on their learning? A welcoming secondary school in Sheffield is looking for a dependable Cover Supervisor to join their team from September.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes when their usual teacher is unavailable, ensuring students have clear instructions and remain engaged with the work provided. You will manage classroom behaviour, support pupils where appropriate and help maintain a calm, productive learning environment throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes and ensure students complete the work set by teaching staff.

Follow lesson plans and provide appropriate support during learning activities.

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

Maintain a calm, safe and focused classroom environment.

Encourage students to participate positively in their learning.

Monitor student engagement and provide relevant feedback to teaching staff.

Support the wider school community where required.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong classroom management and communication skills.

A calm, confident and organised approach.

Ability to build positive relationships with students.

Good organisational skills and the ability to follow lesson plans effectively.

A genuine commitment to supporting students and their learning.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
