GSL Education are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a supportive school in Hull. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or an enthusiastic educator looking to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people with special educational needs.

The successful candidate will have a nurturing and inclusive approach, with the ability to adapt teaching and learning to meet the individual needs of pupils. You will work closely with teaching assistants, school leaders, families and external professionals to ensure every pupil receives the support they need to succeed.

The Role as a SEND Teacher 

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEN.

  • Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

  • Develop individualised learning strategies based on pupils' needs and abilities.

  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including communication, social, emotional and behavioural needs.

  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting provision where necessary.

  • Work collaboratively with support staff and other professionals.

  • Promote pupils' confidence, independence and personal development.

  • Maintain high expectations while recognising and celebrating individual achievements.

  • Follow school safeguarding, behaviour and SEND policies.

The Ideal SEND Teacher:

The successful SEN Teacher will be:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experienced in, or passionate about, working with pupils with SEN.

  • Patient, resilient and compassionate.

  • Confident in adapting lessons and using differentiated approaches.

  • Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils.

  • An effective communicator and team player.

  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
