Learning Support Assistant – Hull

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Contract: Full-time / Part-time opportunities available

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide effective support to pupils, including those with SEND and additional learning needs. You will help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every pupil feels valued and supported.

The Role as a Learning Support Assistant:

  • Supporting pupils in the classroom and during activities

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group learning support

  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills

  • Supporting children with SEND and additional needs

  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities and preparation

  • Promoting positive behaviour and engagement

  • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Following school safeguarding and behaviour policies

The Ideal Learning Support Assistant: 

We are looking for someone who is patient, caring, reliable and enthusiastic about working with children. Previous experience working in a school or supporting children with additional needs is desirable, but candidates with transferable experience and the right attitude are encouraged to apply.

You should have excellent communication skills, a positive approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
