Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branchare welcoming applications from dedicated SEMH Teachers to work in schools across Sheffield. We are looking for qualified teachers who can adapt their approach to individual needs, build positive relationships with students, and create a structured learning environment where young people feel supported and motivated.

The SEMH Teacher will have the opportunity to deliver accessible and engaging lessons while supporting learners to manage emotional and behavioural difficulties, develop confidence, and achieve their academic goals.

SEMH Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver lessons suited to different academic and emotional needs
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to make learning more accessible
  • Create clear routines and expectations that provide consistency for students
  • Help young people develop strategies for managing emotions and behaviour
  • Monitor academic, social, and personal progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Work closely with support staff and other professionals to meet individual needs

SEMH Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Previous experience teaching students with SEMH or additional needs
  • Good understanding of positive behaviour management strategies
  • Ability to adapt lessons for different abilities and individual needs
  • Calm, patient, and confident approach to classroom management
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
