Job Title: PE Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branchare looking to appoint enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher to work with active schools in Barnsley. We welcome applications from qualified educators who can deliver enjoyable and inclusive lessons, motivate students of different abilities, and promote the benefits of physical activity, teamwork, and healthy living.

The PE Teacher will help learners improve their physical skills, fitness, and understanding of different sports while encouraging confidence, discipline, and fair play.

PE Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver PE lessons across a variety of sports and activities
  • Demonstrate techniques and help students develop their physical skills
  • Adapt activities so learners with different abilities can participate
  • Encourage teamwork, good sportsmanship, and respectful behaviour
  • Monitor individual performance and provide useful feedback
  • Contribute to school teams, sports clubs, competitions, and events

PE Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Previous experience teaching PE within a school or similar setting
  • Good knowledge of the PE curriculum and a range of sports
  • Confidence leading practical activities indoors and outdoors
  • Strong communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
