Job Title: PE Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are welcoming applications from motivated Physical Education Teacher to work with active schools in Sheffield. We are interested in qualified educators who can deliver active and enjoyable lessons, introduce students to a variety of sports, and help them develop confidence, teamwork, and healthy habits.

The PE Teacher supports learners in improving their physical ability and understanding of sport while creating an environment where everyone is encouraged to participate.

PE Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver practical PE lessons across a range of sports
  • Teach correct techniques, rules, and safe ways to take part in physical activities
  • Encourage students of different abilities to participate and improve
  • Help learners understand the value of fitness, teamwork, and fair play
  • Assess individual performance and provide clear guidance for improvement
  • Support school teams, sports clubs, competitions, and other activities

PE Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Previous experience teaching PE within a school
  • Good understanding of the PE curriculum and different sporting activities
  • Ability to motivate and manage students during practical lessons
  • Strong communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
