Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking for creative and skilled Design and Technology Teachers to work in excellent schools across Sheffield. This role would suit qualified educators who enjoy practical teaching and can help young people develop their design skills, technical knowledge, and confidence through hands-on learning.

The Design and Technology Teacher supports learners in exploring ideas, working with different materials, and developing practical solutions while building an understanding of the design process.

D&T Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons
  • Guide students through designing, making, testing, and improving products
  • Demonstrate how to use tools, equipment, and materials safely
  • Encourage learners to explore ideas and find practical solutions to problems
  • Assess practical projects and written work and provide useful feedback
  • Maintain a safe and organised workshop and classroom environment

DT Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology within an educational setting or similar
  • Good knowledge of D&T materials, equipment, and practical techniques
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements in practical lessons
  • Strong communication, planning, and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
