Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are welcoming applications from reliable and supportive Teaching Assistant (TA) to work in schools across Sheffield. We are interested in individuals who can work closely with teaching staff, provide extra help where needed, and encourage students to take an active role in their learning.
The Teaching Assistant will have the opportunity to provide practical classroom support to help learners understand tasks, stay engaged, and develop greater confidence and independence.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers with lessons, activities, and classroom routines
- Provide one-to-one support for students who need additional help
- Work with small groups to practise and develop key learning skills
- Encourage young people to participate and complete their assigned work
- Prepare learning materials and help keep the classroom organised
- Observe learner progress and share useful feedback with teaching staff
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient and positive approach to supporting different abilities
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with teachers
- Reliable, organised, and adaptable within a school environment
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
