Salary: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you confident leading a classroom and keen to support pupils in their learning? A welcoming secondary school in Sheffield is looking for a reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team from September.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared work when teaching staff are unavailable. You will keep pupils focused on their learning, follow lesson instructions and maintain a calm, well-managed classroom throughout the school day.
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to gain valuable experience in a secondary school environment while making a positive contribution to pupils' education.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher.

Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure pupils remain engaged.

Maintain a calm, safe and orderly classroom environment.

Manage behaviour consistently in line with school policies.

Support pupils with their work where appropriate.

Provide relevant feedback to teaching staff following lessons.

Work effectively with teachers and wider school staff.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Confident communication and classroom management skills.

A calm, professional and consistent approach.

Ability to follow lesson plans and instructions accurately.

Strong organisational skills and reliability.

A genuine interest in supporting pupils' learning and development.
-
Experience within a school or education setting is advantageous.
To work with GSL Education as a Cover Supervisor, you should:

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
