Salary Scale: £102 – £120 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull branch are currently looking for reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in York and the surrounding areas. Whether you are looking for flexible day-to-day work, short-term placements, or a longer-term opportunity, this is a great chance to gain valuable experience within a variety of educational settings.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will provide effective classroom supervision during teacher absences, delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring students remain focused and engaged. You will play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning while creating a calm, positive, and well-managed classroom environment.
Main Responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise classes and deliver pre-set lesson plans, ensuring students remain engaged with their learning.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and manage classroom situations confidently and fairly.
- Provide clear instructions and support students with their learning activities where appropriate.
- Adapt your approach to meet the needs of students with different abilities and learning requirements.
- Record attendance, behaviour, and relevant lesson information accurately for teaching staff.
- Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures while promoting a safe and respectful learning environment.
Cover Supervisor Minimum Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, youth work, mentoring, or similar setting is desirable.
- Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
- A confident, calm, and adaptable approach to working with secondary-aged students.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
