Job Title: Graduate Teaching Assistant
Location: Middlesbrough
Pay Rate: £90 - £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education Newcastle Branch are welcoming applications from motivated Graduate Teaching Assistant (TA) to work in schools across Middlesbrough. This position is well suited to graduates who enjoy working with young people and want to use their knowledge and skills to support learning while gaining valuable school-based experience.
The GTA is going to work alongside teachers to help students understand lesson content, complete activities, and build confidence in their learning.
Graduate Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Support individuals and small groups with classroom activities
- Help learners understand tasks and explain instructions when needed
- Encourage students to participate and stay focused during lessons
- Provide extra academic support in areas linked to your subject knowledge
- Assist teachers with preparing resources and organising learning activities
- Observe student progress and share useful feedback with teaching staff
Graduate Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject
- Interest in education, teaching, or working with young people
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to explain ideas clearly and provide patient support
- Positive, reliable, and willing to learn within a school environment
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
