Salary Scale: £92 – £115 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull branch are currently searching for dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work across schools in York and the surrounding areas. Whether you are looking for flexible day-to-day work, a long-term placement, or a permanent opportunity, we can help you find a role that suits your experience and career goals.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and wider support teams to provide tailored assistance to students who require additional support. You will help pupils access the curriculum, participate positively in school life, and make progress academically, socially, and emotionally.
Main Responsibilities as a Learning Support Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils who require additional assistance with their learning.
- Assist teachers with classroom activities, resources, and differentiated learning tasks.
- Support students in overcoming barriers to learning and developing confidence, independence, and positive learning habits.
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and participation through consistent and supportive approaches.
- Monitor pupils' progress and provide relevant observations and feedback to teachers and support staff.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment that promotes student wellbeing.
Learning Support Assistant Minimum Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, or support setting is desirable.
- Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs or SEND is advantageous.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting students with different needs.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
