Salary Scale: £92 – £115 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking a Psychology Graduate to work across a range of supportive and inclusive schools in York. We are particularly keen to hear from recent Psychology graduates who are enthusiastic about applying their academic knowledge in a practical educational setting. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting students while developing valuable skills for future career pathways.
Psychology Graduate Role:
The successful Psychology Graduate will work alongside teaching, pastoral, and support staff to help students overcome academic, behavioural, social, and emotional barriers to learning. We are looking to recruit a recent Psychology Graduate who is empathetic, observant, and confident in building positive relationships with young people, including those with SEND and SEMH needs.
Psychology Graduate Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of learning, behavioural, and emotional needs
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and targeted interventions to support student engagement
- Support students with SEND, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or other additional needs where appropriate
- Encourage positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, resilience, and confidence in learning
- Observe and monitor student progress, providing relevant feedback to teaching and pastoral staff
- Build positive relationships with students and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Psychology Graduate Requirements:
- A recent degree in Psychology or a closely related subject is highly desirable
- A genuine interest in working with children and young people and developing a career in education, psychology, mental health, or youth support
- Strong communication, interpersonal, observational, and organisational skills
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students with diverse needs
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
