Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are keen to hear from skilled Design and Technology Teachers to work in schools across Sheffield. We are looking for qualified teachers who can combine practical skills with creative learning, helping students explore new ideas and build confidence in designing and making products.
The Design and Technology Teacher guides learners through practical projects while developing their creativity, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills.
D&T Teacher Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons across relevant Design and Technology topics
- Teach students how to plan, design, make, and evaluate their work
- Show learners how to use tools, materials, and equipment correctly and safely
- Encourage young people to test ideas and improve their designs
- Check practical and written work and give clear feedback
- Keep workshops and practical learning areas safe and well organised
DT Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
- Experience teaching Design and Technology in a secondary school
- Good knowledge of D&T materials, tools, and practical methods
- Understanding of health and safety within workshop environments
- Strong communication, planning, and classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
