Salary: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you confident leading a classroom and keen to support pupils in their learning? A welcoming secondary school in Barnsley is looking for a dependable Cover Supervisor to join their team from September.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared work when teaching staff are unavailable. You will help maintain a focused classroom, support pupils with their tasks and ensure lessons continue smoothly throughout the school day.
The role offers a valuable opportunity to gain further experience in a secondary school while playing an important part in pupils' day-to-day learning and progress.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher.

Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure pupils remain focused on their work.

Maintain a calm, safe and orderly classroom environment.

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

Support pupils with their learning where appropriate.

Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons.

Work effectively alongside teachers and wider school staff.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Confident classroom management and communication skills.

A calm, professional and consistent approach.

Ability to follow lesson plans and school instructions effectively.

Strong organisational skills and reliability.

A genuine interest in supporting pupils' education and development.
-
Experience within a school or education setting is advantageous.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
