Are you a passionate English Teacher looking for a new opportunity where you can help young people develop their confidence and communication skills? A supportive secondary school in Barnsley is seeking a committed English Teacher to join their team from September.
About the Role:
As an English Teacher, you will plan and deliver well-structured lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping pupils develop their reading, writing, analysis and communication skills. You will use a range of teaching strategies to engage learners, adapt lessons to different abilities and maintain high expectations in the classroom.
Alongside delivering high-quality teaching, you will assess pupil progress, provide constructive feedback and work with colleagues to support positive outcomes for learners.

Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4.

Teach reading, writing, analysis and communication skills effectively.

Assess, monitor and record pupil progress.

Adapt lessons and resources to meet different learning needs.

Maintain positive behaviour and high expectations within the classroom.

Provide clear and constructive feedback to support pupil development.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider English department.
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.

Strong subject knowledge across the English curriculum.

Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

A commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and supporting pupil progress.

An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
