Job Title: Early Years Practitioner
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are welcoming applications from caring and creative Early Years Practitioner (EYP) to work with fabulous schools in Sheffield. We are looking for individuals who enjoy working with young children and can support their learning, wellbeing, and development through age-appropriate activities.

The Early Years Practitioner creates positive learning experiences that help children develop early language, social, physical, and practical skills in a safe and supportive setting.

Early Years Practitioner Responsibilities:

  • Lead simple games, stories, creative tasks, and learning activities
  • Help children develop speaking, listening, and social skills
  • Encourage young learners to explore, ask questions, and try new activities
  • Support daily routines such as mealtimes, tidying, and transitions
  • Observe development and share useful information with teachers and other staff
  • Keep learning and play areas safe, organised, and suitable for children

Early Years Practitioner Requirements:

  • Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting
  • Relevant Early Years or childcare qualification is advantageous
  • Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Friendly, patient, and responsible approach to working with children
  • Good communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
