Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are welcoming applications from committed SEMH Teacher to work with amazing schools in Sheffield. We are looking for qualified educators who can adapt lessons to individual needs, build trusting relationships, and help students make both academic and personal progress.
The SEMH Teacher provides structured and engaging learning while helping learners manage emotional and behavioural challenges in a safe and positive environment.
SEMH Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach lessons that meet different learning and emotional needs
- Adapt classroom activities to make learning accessible and achievable
- Build positive relationships with students through clear and consistent support
- Help young people develop confidence and better ways to manage their emotions
- Monitor academic and personal progress and provide useful feedback
- Work closely with support staff, families, and other professionals when required
SEMH Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
- Previous experience teaching learners with SEMH or additional needs in a school or similar setting
- Good understanding of positive behaviour management approaches
- Ability to adapt teaching methods for different levels of ability and need
- Patient, organised, and confident approach to classroom management
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
