Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Would you like to help children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) feel supported, included, and confident in their learning?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking to appoint dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to work in schools across Doncaster. We want individuals who can provide patient support, understand different learning needs, and help young people take an active part in school life.
The SEN Teaching Assistant is going to work alongside teaching staff to provide additional help, making learning more accessible and supporting students with their academic, social, and personal development.
SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Support individual learners with tasks based on their specific needs
- Assist small groups with activities designed to improve key skills
- Help students understand instructions and complete classroom work
- Encourage children to become more confident and independent
- Provide a calm and supportive presence throughout the school day
- Communicate with teachers and SEN staff about progress and areas of concern
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN in an educational setting or similar
- Understanding of different learning needs and support approaches
- Patient and caring attitude when working with young people
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow individual support plans and school procedures
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
