Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting caring and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to work with inclusive schools in Rotherham. We are interested in individuals who can understand different learning needs, build positive relationships, and help children get the most from their time in the classroom.
The Special Educational Needs TA will provide practical and individual support to help learners take part in lessons, develop important skills, and become more independent.
SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist students who need extra help with classroom tasks and activities
- Provide one-to-one or small-group support based on individual learning needs
- Adapt resources and instructions to make activities easier to understand
- Encourage young people to communicate, participate, and work independently
- Help maintain routines that create a calm and comfortable learning environment
- Share observations with teachers and SEN staff to help track progress
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEN or additional needs in educational setting or similar
- Basic understanding of different special educational needs
- Patient and supportive approach to working with young learners
- Ability to communicate clearly with children and school staff
- Flexible, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
