About the Role
A well-resourced special educational needs school in Central Manchester requires a nurturing Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 care and educational support for students with Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex medical needs.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with personal care, mobility, feeding, and sensory integration activities.

Facilitate access to specialized equipment (hydrotherapy, multi-sensory rooms, eye-gaze technology).

Support learning through play, sensory exploration, and interactive communication.
Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Proven experience supporting individuals with severe/profound learning difficulties, complex health needs, or mobility requirements in a school or care setting.

DBS Check: Enhanced Child & Adult Workforce DBS check registered on the DBS Update Service.

Certifications: Valid Manual Handling & Hoist Training (essential); First Aid and Gastrostomy (PEG) feeding training are desirable.

Qualities: Highly attentive to pupil welfare, comfortable delivering intimate personal care with dignity, and physically capable of handling lifting/moving tasks.
