Salary Scale: £34,068 to £52,834 per annum (MPS/UPS)
Are you an enthusiastic Modern Foreign Language Teacher looking to inspire students through the learning of languages and different cultures?
GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking a Modern Foreign Language Teacher to work across a range of supportive and forward-thinking secondary schools in York. We are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable, and adaptable educator who can create engaging language-learning experiences and encourage students to develop their confidence, communication skills, and cultural awareness.
Modern Foreign Language Teacher Role:
The successful Modern Foreign Language Teacher will deliver engaging lessons across the secondary curriculum, helping students develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. We are looking to recruit a Modern Foreign Language Teacher who can inspire students to develop a genuine interest in languages while adapting teaching approaches to meet a range of abilities and learning needs.
Modern Foreign Language Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging MFL lessons that develop students' language skills and cultural understanding
- Teach and assess key language skills including speaking, listening, reading, and writing
- Differentiate lessons and resources to support students with varying abilities and additional learning needs
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement
- Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and active participation in language learning
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development and wider school activities
Modern Foreign Language Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Strong subject knowledge in at least one Modern Foreign Language, such as French, Spanish, or German
- Previous experience teaching MFL within a secondary school setting is desirable
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
- A creative, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to language teaching and student development
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
