Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Doncaster
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Are you confident taking charge of a classroom and helping pupils stay focused on their learning?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking reliable Cover Supervisor (CS) to work with fabulous schools in Doncaster. We would like to hear from individuals who are confident working with young people, can manage a classroom effectively, and are comfortable supporting different subjects and year groups.
The Cover Supervisor ensures lessons continue smoothly during teacher absence by guiding pupils through prepared work and maintaining a calm and productive classroom.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes and deliver work already prepared by teaching staff
- Explain lesson instructions clearly and answer general pupil questions
- Keep pupils focused and encourage them to complete assigned activities
- Follow school behaviour policies to manage the classroom effectively
- Record any important information or concerns for the class teacher
- Adapt confidently when working with different subjects and year groups
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Confidence managing groups of pupils in a classroom environment
- Clear communication and good interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional when handling challenging behaviour
- Flexible and responsible approach to working within different classes
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
