Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting supportive Teaching Assistant (TA) to work with amazing schools in Doncaster. We would like to hear from individuals who enjoy working with young people and can provide patient, practical support throughout the school day.
The Teaching Assistant helps pupils take part in lessons, understand classroom tasks, and develop the skills and confidence needed to become more independent learners.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist pupils with classwork and explain tasks when additional help is needed
- Work with individuals and small groups on focused learning activities
- Encourage pupils to participate, ask questions, and stay involved in lessons
- Help teachers prepare resources and organise the classroom for learning
- Support positive behaviour and reinforce clear classroom expectations
- Share observations with teaching staff to help monitor pupil progress
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting
- Good communication and relationship-building skills
- Patient and positive approach to supporting different learning needs
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with teaching staff
- Reliable, organised, and flexible within a busy school environment
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
