Job Title: MFL Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you an enthusiastic MFL Teacher ready to help students develop their language skills and broaden their understanding of different cultures? A welcoming secondary school in Barnsley is looking for a committed MFL Teacher to join their team.

About the Role:

As an MFL Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging language lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students build confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will support pupils in developing their language knowledge while maintaining high expectations for progress and classroom behaviour.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging MFL lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Teach language skills including speaking, listening, reading and writing.

  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback.

  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs and abilities of different learners.

  • Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment.

  • Encourage students to develop confidence and enthusiasm for language learning.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support departmental and school-wide priorities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching MFL within a secondary school setting.

  • Strong subject knowledge and a confident understanding of language teaching.

  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • A genuine commitment to helping students make strong academic progress.

  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
